Why Commission

Because disposable furniture
costs more in the end

Most "wood" furniture today is particleboard wrapped in paper-thin veneer. It looks fine for three years, then it falls apart. We build pieces meant to be passed down β€” to your children, and theirs.

01

Solid hardwood. Full stop.

No MDF. No veneer. No particleboard. Every piece is built from solid North American hardwood boards, hand-selected for grain and character.

02

Traditional joinery

Hand-cut mortise-and-tenon and dovetail joints. Structurally superior to pocket screws or dowels β€” these joints will hold for a century.

03

Made to your dimensions

Every piece is designed for the exact room it will live in. Your space, your chairs, your people β€” measured to the millimetre.

04

We deliver personally

We don't hand your finished table to a freight company. We load it, drive it, and place it in your home personally.

The Collection

Signature
pieces

Every piece is made to order. These are our signature designs β€” each one fully customizable in dimensions, wood species, finish, and hardware. Price shown is a starting point.

Meet the Maker

Built by hand,
backed by our name

CraftyTables began with a simple conviction: that the furniture in your home should be worth keeping. After watching friend after friend spend real money on "wood" furniture that cracked, warped, and fell apart within a few years, we founded a workshop dedicated to the opposite principle. Every piece we build is made from solid Canadian hardwood β€” never MDF, never veneer, never particleboard. We cut our joinery by hand, sand our surfaces by hand, and deliver every piece ourselves. We are a small workshop. That's intentional. The person who builds your piece is the same person who answers your first email, measures your room, picks your slabs, and places the finished table in your home.

The Commission

From first conversation to finished piece

Our process takes five stages and typically 8–14 weeks. We send detailed updates at every step.

01

Consultation

We talk through your space, needs, budget, and style. You share photos and measurements. We give honest advice.

02

Design & Quote

You receive a detailed drawing, exact dimensions, wood selection, finish options, and a firm price in writing.

03

Slab Selection

We visit the mill together and hand-pick the boards. You approve every slab before milling begins.

04

Build & Finish

Hand-cut joinery, progressive sanding, and your choice of hard-wax oil or catalyzed topcoat. Weekly photos during the build.

05

White-Glove Delivery

We deliver, set up, and perform final inspection with you in the room. If anything isn't right, it doesn't stay.

Wood Species

Every grain
tells a story

We work exclusively in solid North American hardwoods sourced from FSC-certified mills. Each species has its own character β€” we'll help you choose the right one for your piece and your home.

Black Walnut
Rich chocolate tones, fine straight grain, exceptional stability. Our most requested species for heirloom pieces.
Signature
White Oak
Warm amber tone with distinctive ray fleck. Exceptional water resistance and takes stain beautifully.
Signature
Hard Maple
Creamy white with a subtle silken sheen. Exceptionally dense β€” the quiet workhorse.
Signature
American Cherry
Starts warm amber, deepens to rich auburn over years of use. Takes on patina like no other North American wood.

Four promises
on every piece

Every commission is covered by four written guarantees. If we break any of them, you don't pay.

Lifetime Structural Warranty

If any joint we cut ever fails under normal use, we repair or replace the piece at no cost to you. For the life of the piece.

30-Day Satisfaction

You have 30 days to live with the piece. If you're not completely happy β€” for any reason β€” we refinish, adjust, rebuild, or refund. Your choice.

Fixed-Price Quote

The price we quote is the price you pay. Materials, labour, finish, hardware, delivery within the Lower Mainland β€” all included.

On-Time or On Us

We agree on a delivery date in writing. If we're late through no fault of yours, we take 5% off for every week we run over.

Long-Term Care

A piece meant
to be lived with

We include a care kit with every delivery and stand behind every piece for its lifetime. Here's what ownership actually looks like.

Monthly

Wipe with a damp cotton cloth. That's it. Do not use furniture sprays or waxes β€” they contaminate the finish.

Annually

For hard-wax oil finishes, apply a thin coat of our included maintenance oil. Takes 20 minutes.

Every decade

Bring the piece back and we'll refinish it at cost. No profit, no upcharge. The wood underneath is the same wood forever.

Forever

Keep it out of direct sunlight, maintain 35–55% humidity where possible, and it will outlast everyone in this conversation.
